Core Web Vitals
Core Web Vitals are a set of Google metrics measuring real-world loading, interactivity, and visual stability, used as a signal in ranking.
The metrics capture how a page feels to a user: how quickly the main content loads, how fast the page responds to input, and how much the layout shifts unexpectedly while loading. They are measured from real user data, not lab tests alone.
They are one ranking signal among many, and rarely the decisive one, but they matter because they overlap with user experience: a page that scores poorly is usually genuinely frustrating to use, which affects engagement regardless of ranking.
